It’s easy to fall into a routine and that can become monotonous over time. That’s why a staycation is a great way to break out of that habit! My friend Ashley and I decided to have a weekend staycation at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort and Villas. We had the chance to relax and unwind!
Discovering the Scottsdale Plaza Resort
The Scottsdale Plaza Resort and Villas is located in central Scottsdale, just north of Old Town. Surrounded by Camelback and Mummy Mountains, the resort spans 40 acres and offers numerous amenities.
Some of their amenities include swimming pools, tennis courts, a full-service spa and salon, a fitness center, and so much more. If you don’t want to leave your furry friends behind, the resort is also dog-friendly! You can take them for morning or evening strolls along the resort’s hiking trail.
The Scottsdale Plaza Resort and Villas offer so many activities for your staycation!
Sunbathing at Scottsdale Plaza Cafe Cabana
We started off our staycation with a poolside lunch! The Scottsdale Plaza Cafe Cabana is conveniently located at their main pool and lobby. They offer a refreshing selection of frozen cocktails, wine, and beer. We got the Borracho Chicken Nachos and enjoyed a few mocktails!
Dining at JD’s Restaurant and Lounge
For dinner, we headed over to JD’s Restaurant & Lounge. The restaurant serves lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Their menu offers a variety of shareable, wood-fired pizzas, entrees, and desserts, along with signature cocktails and tequila flights.
We tried the Truffle Parmesan Fries, Crispy Chicken Wings, Heirloom Beets Salad, and Fish Tacos! I love truffle fries and chicken wings – if it’s on the menu, there’s a high chance I’m ordering those. For dessert, we wanted to try the Churro Donut – recommended by our server, and it was so good!
Relaxing at Salon & Day Spa
We started off the next morning at the salon and day spa for more relaxation. They offer a wide range of services, including nail treatments, body therapies, facial therapies, and massages. The resort also provides signature packages and spa event services, making it perfect for special occasions like birthday celebrations or bachelorette parties.
Both of us received the Desert Quench Signature Treatment, which is a full-body massage that exfoliates, hydrates, and tones the body!
Starting the Morning at Garden Court
After relaxing at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort Salon & Day Spa, we had breakfast at the Garden Court. The restaurant opens daily from 7 am until 11 am, offering breakfast classics with a twist, like Churro French Toast or Plaza Benedict! However, if you arrive later in the morning, they only serve a buffet-style breakfast.
We had such a fun time doing a staycation at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort and Villas – thank you so much for having us! It was a great time catching up and creating new memories.
