Period talks were always so uncomfortable for me growing up. This is a disclaimer for those who are super sensitive to menstrual period talks. Hitting Puberty at 12

I was terrified. Bleeding out of your vagina? How is that appealing? The only thing I was excited about hitting puberty was probably getting boobs – which, I did not end up getting. (Read my boob journey.)

Anyways, I got my period during the summer of 6th to 7th grade when I was 12. My mom, sister, and I were just taking a stroll around our neighborhood. When we came back, I went to the bathroom, and omg. I got my period.

I came running out of the bathroom, and couldn’t wait to tell my mom. One of the perks of growing up with a mom, haha.

I always struggled with my period throughout middle school. Who’s idea was it to have khaki pants as part of our uniform in middle school? Literally, I would accidentally bleed into my pants all the time.
