Yesterday was Tyler’s birthday. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say his age – you know, there’s a threshold that once you pass, you get sensitive about your age. I actually googled “why is it rude to ask…” and the top suggested search was “why is it rude to ask a woman her age?” Then, it got me thinking – is it only women who find it rude?
Anyway, I went into a rabbit hole and the general census is that it’s just rude to ask anyone their age, regardless of gender.
Tyler’s Birthday!
Back to Tyler’s birthday – we went over to his parents’ house for dinner the day before. His parents made chicken kabobs and it was delicious. It was funny because Tyler’s dad forgot his birthday was coming up, haha. It was one of those ‘you had to be there‘ moments – it’s always fun going over to his parents’ house. As for Tyer’s birthday present…
It’s not hard to get him a present. Tyler’s a simple guy (one of the things I love about him). He’ll love just about anything that is golf-related. You can never go wrong with Filthiest -Pro V1X golf balls or Johnnie-O polo shirts. While I could have gotten him those, I decided to go with something that he won’t be able to find in stores!
Cookies for Golf Lovers
Look at these golf inspired cookies! Perfect for those golf lovers in your life. I stumbled across JK Cookie Co on Instagram while I was scrolling through geotagged photos in Scottsdale, Arizona. I told Jill that I wanted golf themed cookies and this is what we came up with! We did a golf ball, golf flag, and his initials: TPR. At first, I was thinking of doing his age instead of initials, but initials felt more personal.
Golf Inspired Sugar Cookies
I’m the worst when it comes to surprises – I booked Tyler and I a hot air balloon ride for Valentine’s Day and I ended up telling him about it the day I booked it. I get so excited and have to tell someone! This time, I didn’t – all I told Tyler that this gift was mostly for me but I needed an excuse, hehe.
These cookies are so good – I ordered the vanilla flavored one and they were delicious. I highly recommend checking out JK Cookie Co for your decorative cookie needs. You can reach her on Instagram @jk_cookieco or email jillkcookieco@gmail.com.
Don’t these cookies look delicious? I hope Tyler doesn’t mind me eating all of his birthday cookies!

Haha so cute!! I once had a job where I had to ask women their age and I HATED IT! I thought it was terrible that I had to do that for a newspaper article. Anyway, glad those days are over. I now say, I’m (age) but in Asian years that’s (10 years younger) hahahahaaa! Those cookies look great, hope Tyler had a great birthday!
