Hello to the post-holiday season! I’m back again with another sit-down interview featuring local businesses in Phoenix, Arizona.
While I personally have not had CryoSkin or Cryotherapy due to not being deemed a good candidate, I was still able to sit down with Sandi Lee from Coldfront Cryo to learn more about what Cryotherapy is, what treatments can do for you and what to do – or not do – before and after treatments.
Even though I wasn’t considered a good candidate for CyroSkin, my mom was – so she decided to get the treatment done! Last week, my mom came up to move forward and try out CryoSkin. The biggest struggle of this whole treatment was to avoid eating sugar. Sugar is used in pretty much everything – even things you wouldn’t expect – so finding foods without it was quite a struggle. Beyond the sugarless hurdle, there really aren’t any other difficulties in the treatment. With there being no downtime, all you have to do is avoid sugar and ensure you’re drinking plenty of water.

What is Cryo? My Interview with Coldfront Cryo
Hi, everyone. I’m here at Coldfront Cryo. I’m here with Sandi Lee, and we’re going to be talking about Cryotherapy and CryoSkin. Do you want to introduce yourself?
Sandi Lee: Yes, I’m Sandi Lee and my formal education was [in] nursing, and then I moved on to the beauty industry and became a cosmetologist. I have done skin and hair for 33 years. I have been with Coldfront Cryo for a year and a half. [Whole body Cryo] took care of my inflammation issues and my pain from standing for 33 years – which is getting into a tank filled with nitrogen. That helps reduce all your pain and inflammation, and I have been medication-free for over a year.
What’s the difference between Cryotherapy and CryoSkin?
Sandi Lee: Cryotherapy, whole-body cryo, you get into a tank completely whole body. You’re burning calories, you’re reducing inflammation. It’s great for mood-boosting. It’s great for fatigue, weight loss, and sleeping better. It has many, many health benefits.
CryoSkin is a smaller machine that’s a handheld wand in which we can sculpt the body by using cold temperatures, and we can freeze fat cells and get rid of fat and do slimming and toning. It gets rid of cellulite, saggy skin. It’s a great mommy makeover. It’s wonderful for so many little parts that you can’t get rid of that stubborn fat. I have marathon runners who still can’t get rid of their love handles, and we get rid of them.
How many treatments would someone have to have in order to see a difference?
Sandi Lee: Every human is different in their response to it – so it’s like peeling an onion. Sometimes people respond extremely fast. Other people, it just is stubborn fat, and it takes a little longer.
So we sell packages of five treatments and then 10 treatments. I have people on their second and third 10-packs because now they get it that they can actually sculpt their body. You can only do a treatment every two weeks. You didn’t get that little grouping of fat cells overnight, and you’re not going to lose it overnight, though we lose anywhere from half an inch to two inches in one treatment.
So you can lose a lot, but we want expectations for people… Everybody’s body is going to respond differently. So it’s really important that you just come in, get the treatment, and you’ll be able to see whether your love handles go away in three treatments or is it going to take six treatments? Sometimes it’s stubborn fat.
Who would benefit from using CryoSkin?
Sandi Lee: Anybody. Anybody that has fat. You just need to come in and be prepped, meaning you’re going to drink a lot of water and no sugar that day. Then your diet for the day is pretty much that you can eat any protein or vegetables that you want and you stay away from any fruit, carbs, or sugar that day.
What should you do pre-treatment?
Sandi Lee: Pre-treatment, you can just come in- just make sure you didn’t have any sugar that day. That’s the main thing- and no carbs. Even if you get up in the morning and you want to have bacon and eggs, come on in afterward. It’ll work fine. Don’t have the orange juice. Don’t have any fruit, berries or anything [like that], because the fat cell needs glucose to find its partner. So once we freeze it and break it in half and it’s on its way through your lymphatic system or your elimination system, if there’s glucose in the bloodstream, that will cause that fat cell to find its partner. It’s the fuel it needs to find its partner again. So we want you to be really successful. So sugar is the biggest enemy.
What would you do or not do post-treatment?
Sandi Lee: You don’t want to work out first. You don’t want to get your core temperature up. You want to just come in pretty much sedate[d] that day. I mean, just come in normal. You can work out immediately after. We put you in compression boots after to get your circulation system and lymphatic system going. You’ll be just drinking a liter and a half of water every day for the next two weeks as you’re eliminating all that we freeze out of you. But it takes 14, 15 days for your lymphatic system to drain itself.
With Cryo, will the fat cells come back?
Sandi Lee: The fat cells that we destroy won’t come back. They’re gone. But if you went home after this and you ate ice cream every night, the fat that you eat is going to fill up the fat cells you still have in your body. So it may not be that particular area that we worked on, but it’s going to go into other areas that you have fat cells. But yes, those fat cells are gone forever.
So tell me about your experience. You mentioned that you were a nurse and a hairstylist. How has Cryo helped you with you and your health?
Sandi Lee: Okay. Well number one, I lived on Aleve, two [pills] in the morning and two at night. I don’t take anything anymore because my joints hurt so bad. It really helps with inflammation. Then CryoSkin is just fun because you can just keep chipping away at the little pieces of fat that you have here and there that you want to get rid of. The Cryo facelift is amazing, and it helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and it encourages collagen buildup in the skin, which as you know, that ends as you get older. So the Cryo facelift is phenomenal.
Is there an age limit on the CryoSkin?
Sandi Lee: Nope. There is no age limit.
Perfect. Thank you so much, Sandi Lee, for talking to us about Cryo and CryoSkin. Is there anything else you want to mention?
Sandi Lee: You’ve got to try it because it’s amazing. It is amazing. And it’s a wonderful gift to give somebody you love.
