When I think of timeless jewelry pieces, Cartier tends to pop in mind. I love how elegant and classic their jewelry is. I recently purchased the Cartier Juste Un Clou Ring smaller version in yellow gold. Juste Un Clou means “just a nail” in French. The nail design is very trendy and stands out quite a bit. The Juste Un Clou (JUC) collection isn’t really one that I would gravitate towards when I’m at a Cartier boutique – I prefer their LOVE collection.
I first saw the JUC ring in March when I was with my friend at the Cartier store at Scottsdale Fashion Square. I wasn’t madly in love with the normal version Cartier has; however when I saw the smaller version, I love how elegant and dainty it was. My friend purchased hers at that time and encouraged me to buy one as well so we can have matching friendship rings.

I wasn’t completely on board and needed more time to think about it. After a couple of months, my college graduation was around the corner. I wanted to purchase something nice for myself. I figured the small JUC ring was a perfect gift! Then, COVID-19 happened.

Ordering Online from Cartier
Online ordering was the only way to go during this pandemic. I originally wanted to purchase the JUC ring at the Cartier boutique so I’m able to try on different sizes. Placing the order online was not difficult – the check out process is similar to any other shopping website. Unlike Chanel, you don’t have to purchase through a Sale Associate.
My order was canceled the next day with no explanation. I called Cartier’s customer service to see what was wrong, and they were currently on backorder. They said I can still place an order but it was going to take 6-8 weeks. I wasn’t really in any rush since we’re all at home quarantining anyways.
By the time it arrived, I had totally forgotten about it. I felt kind of guilty since I’m supposed to be saving money for a downpayment on a new home, but oh well! What’s life if you’re always constantly saving money and can’t splurge sometimes?
Sizing with the Juste Un Clou Collection
One of the issues of ordering online is the sizing. I’ve heard from others to size down with the JUC rings compared to the LOVE rings. Here’s my thought process – my LOVE ring is a size 53 and I wear it on my middle finger. I wanted to wear the JUC ring on my left-hand pointer finger. I know my pointer finger is a bit chubbier than my middle finger, so I decided to get it in the same size. It makes sense, right?
The ring ended up being too big for me, so I’ll be exchanging it for a smaller size. Cartier has a ring size chart, which I should have checked before ordering.
Receiving My Cartier Order
Cartier has an amazing shipping process – I heard it’s either one-day or two-day shipping. For me, it was two-day shipping. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stay home when the package was coming. The apartment leasing office ended up signing the package for me. I love that a signature and ID verification card is required. There have been too many incidents of missing the delivery person and having to submit redelivery attempts, ahhh.
My Overall Thoughts on the JUC Collection
The Cartier JUC ring in the smaller version is so beautiful and dainty. If you’re looking for an introduction piece to the brand, I highly recommend the Cartier LOVE ring over the JUC ring. The LOVE ring to me is much more of a classic everyday piece; while the JUC ring is more of a trendier piece. Of course, to each their own. Overall, it’s beautiful and I’m so excited for it to be part of my collection.
