We took a family trip to Flagstaff back in January, but I am finally getting around to sharing it! Better late than never, right? Ha.
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to do an outdoor trip with my family since I love stargazing and being out in nature. Since traveling to big cities, like Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Nashville, renting a cabin in Flagstaff seems to be the perfect place for some peace and quiet.

Spending Time with Family
On a Friday after work, we drove up to Flagstaff to a charming cabin. My dad and stepmom packed so much food and my stepmom prepared every meal for the whole family. What a superwoman!
After all the siblings fought over which beds to take, we finally settled in that night. We started the evening by playing Quiplash. Quiplash is one of those fun party games that’s perfect for a huge group of people – it is slightly inappropriate though!
Basically, you must use your phone to sign into the party game and it’ll ask you several questions and you’ll have to input an answer. Another player will also have the same questions as you. After all the prompts have been answered, everyone will pick the best answers to the question. Every time my name comes up as one of the answers, it always makes me feel loved because they’re thinking of me. Even if the question is: “The worst Vegas Casino: _____ Palace”, I still feel loved, ha.
We started our Saturday morning with a walk around the neighborhood looking for wood to burn for the fireplace. Growing up, there was a fireplace at my mom’s house, and I loved it every time there was a fire. I was excited to see that the cabin had a fireplace, as well as a fire pit in the backyard. My dad showed me how to start a fire with the woods we found, but I learned that there are certain woods that aren’t great at burning. I also found that I really like the smell of burning pinecones!
Exploring Downtown Flagstaff
After lunch, we explored downtown Flagstaff. We visited random shops, like a crystal store! One of my brothers got a crystal that supposedly is going to help him improve his memory. His argument was that he needed it during his school’s finals week, ha.
We headed back to our cabin for the rest of the day. We watched Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back – Evolution, which is the CGI remake of the original Pokémon movie that was released in 1998. I actually prefer the original over the CGI remake, it’s a little creepy if you ask me, ha.
We also watched a Korean drama about zombies called: All of Us Are Dead. I stopped watching after the first episode because it was too gory for my taste but everyone else continued watching it.
Snowtubing at Flagstaff Snow Park
On Sunday, we went tubing at Flagstaff Snow Park! It was my first-time snow tubing and I had so much fun. I would recommend going snow tubing if you’ve never been before!
The trip was fairly short, but super fun, nonetheless. I love spending time with my family and being outdoors, so here’s to more trips in the future!
