Oh, it’s February! I love Valentine’s Day, but not as much as I love Lunar New Year. Even though Valentine’s Day will just be another day and I don’t have a Valentine this year, it’s still fun to celebrate with my friends and family.
14 Days of Valentine’s Day
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, I am doing 14 Days of Valentine’s Day, like 12 Days of Christmas! I’ll be posting every day until Valentine’s Day on Instagram. Originally, I wanted to do something like sharing one thing I love on day 1, sharing two things I love on day 2, etc., but quickly realized that it would require a lot of thinking, ha.
As of now, I am just focusing on sharing photos and whatever comes to mind when writing captions – coming up with a caption is the hardest part!
I won’t be blogging for 14 days – that’s so much content to think about, ha! But I will be sharing my Instagram posts here as well.
At work, I joined our social committee, which has been so much fun getting involved with the company. I was tasked to write an announcement email to get everyone to participate in our Valentine’s Day activity and that sparked my interest in sharing Valentine’s Day poems!
Here are poems in different styles of poetry!
Haiku
A haiku is a Japanese poem that consists of three lines. The first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables.
Oh, Valentine’s Day,
A day to celebrate love,
Family and friends!
Red and white roses,
Spreading so much love with friends,
Chocolate galore!
Roses are Red, Violets Are Blue
The iconic Valentine’s Day consists of four lines – the first two lines are “roses are red, violets are blue”. Then the third line can be anything as long as the last line rhymes with blue!
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Share your secret love,
We want you to!
I wrote that poem for my work’s social committee! We planned an activity to have everyone share something they love that we don’t know about. Espresso love!
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Valentine’s Day can be lonely,
But it doesn’t have to!
Share your Valentine’s Day poems!
Here are my 14 Days of Valentine’s Day so far: Introduction, Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3!
