As you know, I’ve been on an adventurous kick recently from woodworking to motorcycle riding. Fun fact about me – I am not a huge fan of water. You’ll rarely see me swimming in the pool or at the beach. Inspired by my supervisor at work, who recently went to the lake with her friends, I wanted to conquer my fears of being in the water by going to the lake with my girlfriends Han and Susanna!
Spending the Day at Lake Pleasant in Peoria, Arizona
We decided to go to Lake Pleasant in Peoria, Arizona because it was under an hour’s drive from our house, and they had a ton of activities there. Some of the activities include scuba diving, paddle boarding, kayaking, a water-obstacle course, a waterslide, and so much more. If you’re looking for fun things to do in Peoria, Arizona, then Lake Pleasant is for you!
Originally, we wanted to do both the water-obstacle course and the waterslide, but considering how hot the weather was, we decided to stick with one activity since we knew we were going to get exhausted from the heat. We got half-day tickets to the H2-WHOA waterslide in Peoria, Arizona! Tickets were $40 for one hour (weekends), $55 for half day (4 hours), or $70 for the full day (8 hours).
H2-WHOA Waterslide
There were three different slides – 65 feet long with a 2-foot launch ramp, 85 feet long with a 4-foot launch ramp, and 85 feet long with a 6-foot launch ramp. I stood at the top of the 65 feet slide, looked over to Han and Susanna, and asked them, “who’s idea was this?!” Even though it was my idea… Ha!
I went down the slide and it was thrilling. Because we had to wear lifejackets, I was able to get myself over to the ladder once I landed in the water. One of the lifeguards asked me if I was okay and if I needed help. I think he could tell that I couldn’t swim, haha.
Afterward, we took a break from the slides and ate lunch! Han packed us egg sandwiches and I helped peeled the eggshell the night prior. It felt so good to spend time with my friends at the lake. We also spent some time just being in the lake. Below is a screenshot from Han’s TikTok – Susanna and I were playing “dead fish”.
Once we rest up, we went down the slide a few more times before calling it a day. I stayed with the 65 feet slide, whereas Han and Susanna went on the 85 feet slide a few times. They are way braver than I am!
Girls’ Trip to the Lake!
Overall, doing a girls’ trip to Lake Pleasant was so much fun and very much needed. We talked about coordinating another trip to the lake and renting out a boat. Fingers crossed that we’ll be able to find something in our calendars soon!
