It’s never a dull moment whenever I get to travel with my best friends. We decided to take a trip down to Puerto Peñasco, also known as Rocky Point!

Visiting Puerto Peñasco

The last time I visited Rocky Point was when I was 8 with my mom, my sister, and our family friends. It’s been such a long time that I don’t remember much from that trip. All I remember was that we stayed at my mom’s friend’s condo near the beach, but everything else was a blur.

Our best friends Lydia and Pat have been to Mexico before, so they showed us some of their favorite spots. We went to Mariachis & Tequila for dinner on our first night and the food was delicious!

Escape Room Rocky Point

The next day, we grabbed breakfast and coffee, and then went to Escape Room in Rocky Point. Initially, we were only planning on playing one of their rooms and ended up playing all three. It was so much fun! The first one we did was a Wizard escape room theme, then Alice in the Wonderland theme. Lastly, we came back the next day to do the final room: Pirates theme.

Oyster Farm

If you’re a big oyster fan, you must check out the oyster farms in Rocky Point! I haven’t had oysters in a long time, so I wasn’t sure how much I would like the taste and texture of oysters. Needless to say, I am obsessed! It was so good, and each oyster was less than $1 each. I believe oysters in Phoenix costs around $3 or $4 for one, so trying oysters in Mexico was a must for us!

On another note, I also learned how to play Poker! I’m still learning how to read body cues and mannerisms, but I learned the basics of Poker. It’s just a matter of playing to get used to it.

Overall, this was such a fun weekend trip! I love spending time with friends, whether it was sitting near the beach talking or doing fun things like escape rooms, it’s never a dull moment with good people. Also, the drive from Phoenix to Rocky Point was 4 hours, so it wasn’t too long of a car ride at all!

Puerto Peñasco is a great place to visit if you’re looking for a quick weekend trip.
