Hello, I am currently writing this while being on a plane back to Arizona from DUN DUN DUN New York! Before you read, I just want to let everyone know that this will most likely be streams of consciousness kind of a blog post. So please don’t be mad if you felt like I’ve wasted your time on my little rant. My spring break of 2018 versus 2019.
From New York to Arizona
The flight to New York from Arizona wasn’t too bad. However, I’m dreading this flight back to Arizona right now. Not even five rows behind me yield a screaming and crying baby.
Not going to lie, I sometimes get baby fever from watching too many Instagram videos but never enough to actually want my own. Oh dear, maybe in another decade or so for a baby. If anyone ever wants a child, just sit on the same flight as a crying baby. It’s so annoying and you can see other passengers head turn around with a disguised look on their face as they wonder “omg who’s baby is that?” I feel bad. Kids have a mind of their own and being able to control one’s crying takes a miracle.
There’s still roughly two more hours of the flight until I land in Phoenix. I’m wondering if they’re going to do a second round of snacks and drinks. While my first flight was with Delta, I was able to get two biscoff cookies, which is my favorite! This time, I’m flying American and I just got pretzels, which I guess are still better than peanuts in my opinion.
Anyways, I digress. This spring break was my first time not working endlessly for once. Usually every spring break, I use this opportunity to work and save money.
Speaking of previous spring breaks, lol, last year, my boyfriend at that time cheated on me during spring break. Haaaaaa.
Let me just tell everyone all the red flags about this.
If you and your significant other have the same spring break (as we did) and they didn’t mention anything in regards to spending it together, then yikes. I think it should be well-known to consider spending it together. Especially if it was a long-distance relationship, right? Idk too tbh.
Anyway, he wanted to go to Mexico with his friends, which was fine. However, the reasons why I couldn’t go changed every single time I asked him.
The first reason was there was no more room on this trip and there was a “waitlist” – how convenient that all of his friends were able to go to Mexico and no one was on this “waitlist” except for me, lol. The second reason was that his friends explicitly asked him not to invite me – fair enough but unsure what exactly I did to his friends for them to dislike me. The third reason was that this was an “all bros trip” – but also included a couple of other girls and some of which were their girlfriends. “Bros” for sure.
Nonetheless, ding ding ding you guessed it! He lied and cheated. Phew, who saw that coming, right? Obviously, me being naive, I didn’t, lol. I know that a couple of my friends even said that this was a major red flag. I, for whatever nonsense reason, still defended him.
Honestly, last year’s spring break was horrible for me to say the least. I couldn’t even contact him because he supposedly “broke his phone” on the first night he got to Mexico. What a coincidence, right? I worked pretty much every day and overtime in order to keep my mind off of it. It was dreadful and I’m glad I was working so much that I barely had time to think about the situation.
I think this is where I went wrong now looking back to exactly a year ago. When you’re with someone, it’s important to have your own routine and schedule. You definitely lose who you are and their life becomes your life.
In case anyone is still wondering, it’s been a little over an hour and the baby is still crying on the flight. More passengers are throwing noticeable signs of being annoyed or disturbed by the baby.
Note to self: babies are scary. Yikes.
On a happier note, the second round of snacks and drinks came. Being the coffee addict I am, I got coffee even though it’s past 9 pm (New York time tho) but in Arizona, it’s barely 7 pm!
I was so hungry and with the baby crying, I was about to be HANGRY. I ordered a turkey wrap with a cookie and while pulling out my card, the flight attendant told me not to worry about it since it was the end of the flight and they were going to throw it out anyway, SCORE!. Honestly, this was the highlight of my day.
I don’t think anyone understands how much I was looking forward to the second round of snacks, haha. I wish you all could see how quickly I ate that turkey wrap. Pretty much devoured it like there was no tomorrow.
Anyway, here is my call to action: read my other blog posts!
Sorry for my horrible grammar.
