This past weekend, Tyler and I went up to Sedona for a weekend getaway. Although, I kind of wish this was a three-day vacation. This was my first time in Sedona in almost 2 years – crazy how time flies. I love Sedona and I love how spiritual it is.
Tyler and I haven’t traveled or even gone on vacation together since we started dating. I suppose a little more than half of our relationship was during quarantine though, haha. Nonetheless, we had so much fun staying at Sedona Rouge and exploring the town.
Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa
Sedona Rouge is located in Sedona, Arizona on State Route 89A! The location is gorgeous and within walking distance of many businesses. There are many hiking trails near the hotel as well. They have an amazing spa facility. I would say they have a great fitness center too, but I’ll be honest – I’ve been avoiding the gym since quarantine started. I’m sure they have a nice fitness facility. They also have outdoor pools too if you love swimming. Additionally, they are dog-friendly, so if you’re looking to bring your dog with you, you can!
We were first greeted by these two young gentlemen (with great hair, I must say) in the lobby, haha. They were really nice – Tyler had a conversation with one of them about golf courses nearby. If you need assistance with finding a tee time in the area, they have great recommendations for courses and can get you a tee time.
Superior Master Suite
The room was absolutely beautiful. We got the Superior Master Suite with one King and one Queen murphy bed. Tyler said that whoever designed the room paid attention to details. The transition from the wood flooring to the carpet seamlessly flows together, as well as the beam design in the bedroom with the high ceiling. The room could have fit 4-5 people comfortably – it was huge.
The room was 1,000 square feet with 2 bathrooms and a fireplace feature. The living room had a small kitchen with a safe box, microwave, mini-fridge, and a tea and coffee machine. The master’s bathroom has this luxurious-looking bathtub – it looks like it’s made out of porcelain. I’m not sure what material it is but Tyler loved how sturdy and heavy it felt. He took a bath every night. The showers had two showerheads with one of them being a rain showerhead!
The suite was absolutely beautiful and it was so hard getting myself off the bed. It’s like you’re sleeping on clouds!
Fire Pit Experience with S’mores
After we check-in, we made our way over to the fire pit to enjoy some s’mores! One of the receptionist guys from earlier met us at the fire pit to give us the ingredients to make s’mores. It was so funny because he said something along the lines of, “I hope you both enjoy – these marshmallows were locally sourced from next door… Safeway.” Haha, I’m not sure why, but I was laughing so much. It was quiet and relaxing at the firepit.
This was the perfect way to end our Friday night after a 2-hour drive to Sedona from Phoenix, Arizona.
The next morning, we had breakfast at the Reds Sedona Grill, which is the restaurant connected to the hotel. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Tyler got the breakfast sandwich with a side of bacon and I got pancakes with a side of sausage. It was delicious!
Sedona Rouge’s Spa & Wellness
After breakfast, I headed over to the Spa & Wellness center where I was literally treated like a princess – who doesn’t want that?
Sedona’s Seven Sacred Pools Massage
The spa has many services to offer, such as massages and facials. I received the Seven Sacred Pools massage. The treatment is named after the hiking trail, Seven Sacred Pools. It’s a 90-minute essential oil massage along with stones to help unleash my chakra!
Bradley was my massage therapist and he was amazing! I’ve been having a lot of pain in my shoulders, specifically, my right shoulder, and Bradley was able to tell. He suggested that I get a laptop stand along with a separate keyboard when I work. He could tell that I hunched over a lot when I’m working, which causes a lot of muscle strain on my shoulders.
I felt so relaxed and peaceful after my massage. I need to get massages more often as a form of self-care. After the massage, I sat in the waiting area for a bit to cool down and relax. The spa front desk lady came and gave me a glass of prosecco along with strawberries, cheese, and crackers. I thought that was amazing and I definitely felt like a VIP.
Sedona Golf Course
While I was getting a massage and taking a nap, Tyler was off playing golf. If you need assistance with booking a tee time or looking for golf course recommendations, Sedona Rouge can assist! They set Tyler at Seven Canyons Golf Club, which is arguably the nicest golf course in Sedona. Another thing, it’s private! This was a huge perk of the hotel.
Seven Canyons Golf Club
You can tell that Tyler was ecstatic about this. He was supposed to play by himself but was able to join a two-some. Funny story: the night we checked in, one of the receptionists told Tyler that his good friend recently left to play college golf in Hawaii. Coincidentally, one of the people Tyler was playing with was that friend’s father! What a small world, right? Haha, additionally, he’s also the owner of Coffee Pot, an iconic breakfast restaurant in town.
Dinner for Two at REDS
After a relaxing day, Tyler and I had dinner at Reds Restaurant. Tyler got the beef wellington (which he hasn’t had since his high school days) and a glass of chardonnay. I ordered mussels and clams, and a glass of white sangria. For dessert, we went with crème brûlée! I’m currently drooling as I’m typing this, haha.
When you’re staying at Sedona Rouge, there are so many things to do that’s walking distance from the hotel.
Red Rock Gelato
Red Rock Gelato serves authentic, handcrafted Italian-style gelato and vegan-friendly sorbet. It was literally across the street from Sedona Rouge. It was less than a 5-minute walk. I got cookie butter gelato and Tyler got coffee and red rocky road gelatos.
Coffee Pot
If you’re looking for a local breakfast place, look no further than Coffee Pot. The iconic restaurant is a staple in the town. It was less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Tyler got waffles, hashbrowns, and a cinnamon roll. I got waffles, eggs, and sausages. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast.
Psychic Readings
Tyler’s not one to believe in psychic readings. While I did have an obsession with readings about 2 years ago, I’ve clearly calmed down a bit. I decided to get a reading because Tyler said he knows how much I love getting them. After my reading, Tyler entertained me by listening to me talk about my psychic reading in Sedona, haha.
I got a reading on my current life, blog, and relationship. Overall, it was a very insightful reading. I’m happy with what’s to come in my life – the good and the bad! There are many psychics near the hotel, so you surely don’t have to search high and low for a reading!
Overall, Tyler and I definitely recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a weekend getaway in Sedona.
The hotel is one of the nicest in Sedona, Arizona. I would recommend staying at their resort if you’re looking for a quick getaway from the burning hot weather in Phoenix. If you’re not from Phoenix, no worries – the hotel is less than a 5-minute drive from the Sedona airport. Tyler says the hotel room is in his top 20 he has stayed in (he has traveled quite a lot throughout his life). As for me, this is unquestionably by far the nicest.
We wish we could have brought Henry, but knowing how he is, he would have been scared the whole trip. It was most likely the right choice to leave him with Tyler’s parents. Hehe.
