The Westin Kierland invited us to a staycation at their gorgeous resort to help promote their upcoming event, Kierland POP. While I haven’t heard much about the place, Tyler told me that he has heard nothing but amazing things. One of which, they have one of the best pools in Arizona!
My favorite thing about staying at Westin Kierland is that it’s pet-friendly! I find that most hotels that say ‘pet-friendly’ usually refer to dogs, not cats. I think it’s because there are a lot more people who are allergic to cats than dogs, but I might be wrong. Nonetheless, I’m glad that we were able to bring Henry along with us during this staycation.
I’m so excited to show you all the photos I took from our staycation and to tell you more about Kierland POP!
Westin Kierland Resort and Spa
Tyler and I stayed at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa (a AAA Four Diamond Resort) in Scottsdale. We stayed Friday night and I was able to get a late check-out, so we didn’t have to leave until late afternoon. Tyler played golf early Saturday, so he pretty much stayed at the hotel for 8 hours max, haha.
I checked in around 5 pm. The check-in process was a breeze and the staff at the Westin Kierland were great – Jayden at the concierge was so kind and helpful. After I settled in, I walked around the resort exploring the place while waiting for Tyler to come after work.
They had a live reptile exhibit and it was a bit freaky to look at the reptiles – eek! I’m not a big fan, but Tyler loved it.
Golf View Guest Room with 1 King and Trundle Bed
Our room was so nice – it was about 420 square feet. The room had a king bed and couch that turned into a trundle bed. There was a mini fridge, TV, and coffee maker – a must for any coffee lover. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I definitely would have stayed in bed the whole day if I could.
The view from our room was amazing – it was the golf course! I enjoyed watching people play golf with Henry on our walk-out patio.
Waltz & Weiser Whiskey Bar and Cantina
After we got acquainted with the place, it was time for dinner! We got dinner with our friends, Marisol and Yesenia, at the Waltz & Weiser Whiskey Bar and Cantina.
The weather was amazing and we enjoyed spending our time outdoors with some friends.
Kierland POP – November 13-15, 2020
Now onto the real reason why I was staying at the Westin Kierland! Kierland POP is an annual event hosted by the Kierland Master Association – a collaboration between Kierland Commons, The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, The Kierland Master Association, and the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA).
If you’re looking for a three-day community art festival, 5k Run (or walk), arts and crafts, then this is perfect for you!
You can expect a series of interactive art experiences, including spanning live art, music, philanthropy, culinary, wellness, and more!
I know with COVID, you’re probably wondering if this is going to be a virtual or in-person event! Well, it’s going to be an in-person event! There will obviously be new changes happening to ensure that everyone is comfortable and safe. The whole event will be outdoors and will practice safe social distancing, local ordinance face mask restrictions, and sanitization everywhere.
If you’re looking to stay at the Westin Kierland during the event, you can save 25% off your stay, a $25 resort credit, and receive two (2) complimentary tickets to the Kierland POP 5K Night Run. Simply use the code ‘LRR’ online or on the phone!
